What happens after my procedure?
You will be transferred to the recovery room. There, the nurse will check your blood pressure, pluse, and respiration rate. It is important to tell your nurse if you are in any pain or have special concerns.
How soon can I return home?
As soon as your physician and nurse determines that you meet discharge criteria, you may be discharged from the surgery center.
What happens when I'm discharged?
Before being dressed and escorted to your car, we review your home-care instructions with you and give you a copy for easy reference. We will also give you a courtesy callthe following business day to check on your progress. Please mail back the prepaid patient satisfication survey card you received at the time of admission, your input is important to us.
What should I do when I get home?
We recommend that you rest comfortably as soon as you get home. Patients typically feel sleepy most of the day if they have had sedation. You may begin your regular diet and resume normal activity as outlined per instructions.
What should I do if I have a problem?
If you have any questions or concerns, please notify your physician. If you feel your condition is an emergency, call 911 immediately or go to the nearest emergency room.
